Ravishingly Round
Your face is almost as wide as it is long.  When measuring your face there is little difference between the width of your face, and the vertical measurement. When most people hear that they have a rounder face, they immediately assume it's because their face is fat.  This is not the case.  This is just the shape of your bones. The goal you are trying to achieve with your hair style is the illusion of length.  There a few ways to achieve this goal.  Longer straighter hair styles that falls around your shoulders or even longer work best for you.  Don't forget to add height; you can do this with soft graduated layers and backcombing at the roots for lift.  Soft layers that frame your face will help give it a narrower appearance. With longer hair you can pull it up in a high ponytail.  When it's time for a formal do, pile your hair on top of you head and let tendrils fall loosely around your face.  If short hair is your thing, make sure it is cut closer at the sides with wispy strands and bangs that frame your face and lots of spiky wisps for height.
Do's and don'ts for your to keep in mind.
Wear styles that add volume and height with chunky spikes, soft layers and backcombing at the roots for lift.
  • Wear a side part with bangs swept over.
  • Keep the width of your hair sleek as possible on the sides by wearing it long or sleeked back.
  • Stay away from chin-length bobs and blunt cuts that draw attention to your fuller cheeks.
  • Keep curly hair as long as possible to avoid bulky sides.
  • Avoid bangs that are heavy and cut straight across, this will make your face appear shorter than it is.

Celebrities with round faces include:

Kirsten Dunst: pictured above, has her Bangs down on her forehead, too much bangs on the forehead can makes your face appear rounder.

Here she is with her hair longer and bangs off her forehead.  This gives her a much more balanced look.

Delta Burke: Lots of volume adds height making a round face appear longer

face.

Heather Tom: Bangs swept to the side add softness to a round face.
